From 3 to 4 June 2006 the Dynów circle of our society observed the fifteenth anniversary of its activity. The circle was established in February 1990 with the purpose of finishing an old people’s home building, begun by social committee. The building was already finished in May 1992, to which a generous donation of Mrs Halina Amberg from England made a remarkable contribution.

The home has 73 places and provides the occupants with a wide range of services like medical and nursing care, rehabilitation, occupational therapy. It also offers something more important – workers, led by their manager, Mrs Teresa Nalepa, and entirely devoted to their charges. There is also a chapel with the Holy Sacrament and a chaplain. The occupants of that home are cheerful and smiling.
The board of the circle with the Chairman, Aleksander Gerula, cares for obtaining resources for the activity and permanent improvement of the building and services.

Friends and representatives of the local authority participated in the Saturday celebration in Dynów. There was the Director of Social Policy Faculty of Podkarpacki Voivodeship Office, the dean of Dynów, the Mayor of Dynów and chairpersons of many circles of our Society from the whole Poland (before there was the annual Chairpersons’ Meeting). However, the most important guest was His Eminence the Cardinal Stanislaw Nagy who participated in the Liturgy of  Word service. On Sunday, after the Holy Mass in  Lancut parish church, guests visited the Potocki’s Castle in Lancut and open-air ethnographic museum in Markowa.

On the 23rd of April 2006 the Lublin circle as well as occupants and workers of Lonely Mother’s Home celebrated great event: consecration of the chapel and leading of the Holy Sacrament in.

A homeless man from Pulawy showed others that it is never too late to realize one’s dreams. Stanislaw Cuch (60) has been living in St. Brother Albert’s Hostel in Pu³awy for a dozen or so years. He has just passed the school-leaving (matura) exam!!! It is a double success for him because thanks to learning he gave up vodka which made him end up in the gutter. Now he dreams of a travel to Sydney to meet the Pope Benedict XVI.

Mr Czes³aw Michalek, occupant of St. Brother Albert’s Hostel in Wroclaw, walking as a pilgrim to John Paul II’s grave, reached Udine on the 29th of May. He crossed the route through the Alps, which we were so much afraid of, without any problems. He is in a good condition. On the 25th of May the manager of the hostel visited him and talked him into making a short break in his walk and to explore Venice. The expected date of reaching his destination, 15 June, seems to be real.

Mr Czes³aw Michalek, occupant of St. Brother Albert’s Hostel in Wroc³aw, has reached Graz today. He is in a good form though he experienced difficult moments on his way because of a two-day raining in Czech Republic. Those tribulations were compensated by a warm welcome in Benedictine monastery in Rajhrad and by his presence on Kahlenberg in Vienna.

Gratulujemy  tego ze wszech miar zas³u¿onego wyró¿nienia i cieszymy siê z obecno¶ci Ks. Bronis³awa w szeregach n. Towarzystwa.

W niedzielê 23 kwietnia w galerii rzeszowskiego BWA odby³a siê Aukcja „Bli¼niemu swemu…” Licytacjê prowadzi³, jak zwykle z werw±, Pan Marek Pietkiewicz. „Pod m³otek” posz³o 225 dzie³ znanych polskich plastyków. Wylicytowano 172 prace na kwotê ponad 350 tys z³. Najwy¿sza cena wylicytowana zosta³a dla obrazu Teresy P±gowskiej „Wej¶cie ptaka”.
To by³ fina³ 9-tej edycji tej piêknej akcji, której g³ównymi twórcami s± polscy arty¶ci ofiaruj±cy swe prace na pomoc ludziom ubogim i bezdomnym. Osoba Adama Chmielowskiego – ¶w. Brata Alberta po³±czy³a ludzi sztuki i ludzi pomocy. Aukcja by³a poprzedzona wystawami ofiarowanych dzie³ w Warszawie, Poznaniu, Katowicach, Krakowie, Wroc³awiu i Rzeszowie.
Organizatorem aukcji jest Fundacja „Bli¼niemu swemu ...” na rzecz Towarzystwa Pomocy im. ¶w. Brata Alberta z siedzib± w Rzeszowie, a jej motorem od samego pocz±tku - Pan Emil Jurkiewicz.

 W Wielki Pi±tek na antenie Katolickiego Radia Józef  "Sielskie fale" (96.5 fm) mogli¶my wys³uchaæ Pasji wg ¶w. Jana w wykonaniu 7 mieszkañców Schroniska im. ¶w. Brata Alberta przy ul. Knyszyñskiej w Warszawie. Dla wykonawców, pracowników Radia oraz s³uchaczy by³o to niezwyk³e i g³êbokie prze¿ycie. W kolejnych dniach odebrali¶my wiele sygna³ów solidarno¶ci i przyja¼ni od s³uchaczy audycji.
