On the 28th of June 2006 in St.Brother Albert’s Soup Kitchen in Bielsko-Biala took place a ceremony of Mr Tadeusz Cozac’s decoration with papal medal „Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice.” Mr Tadeusz is the founder and chairman of the Bielsko-Biala circle of our Society; since 1989 he has run the circle, which is the biggest charity in Bielsko, with great personal dedication.
Decoration was given by the bishop of Bielsko and Zywiec diocese, Tadeusz Rakoczy. “Let that papal decoration, given for the services to the Church and the Pope, be our debt of gratitude for your great love for the needy, humbleness, patience and faith, without which organizing and running such a great God’s work would be impossible,” said the bishop, giving the medal.
The circle in Bielsko runs a soup kitchen, serving 850 meals daily, a free bath house and a storehouse for clothes; it organizes Christmas Eve suppers and Easter breakfasts for the lonely. Children are provided with special care - apart from daily meals there are great events with Child’s Day and St. Nicholas’ Day parcels organized for them and sets of copybooks are distributed. For that love for children Mr Tadeusz was awarded with the Order of Smile. Despite his age and bad legs, Mr Tadeusz together with other members of the circle regularly collects in front of churches for maintaining its activity.
