This year the Pleszew Circle of our Society celebrates a jubilee of its ten-year activity. The celebration of the anniversary on 29th September was combined with laying the foundation stone to mark the founding of a chapel attached to the Hostel. The prelate Henryk Szymiec blessed the foundation act.

After laying the foundation stone everybody went to St. John’s Church for a solemn Holy Mass. The prelate presented in his homily the figure of St. Brother Albert, his life and spirituality, emphasizing his devotion and services for the homeless. Next the guests went for a snack to the Parish House where they listened to the speeches of the prelate, the Chairman of the Circle and the mayor Marian Adamek. The attractions of the meeting were performances by a parish choir and a folk group “Pleszewioki.” In the ceremony participated, among others, the Chairman of the county council of Pleszew, Vice-mayor of Pleszew, managers of the local Social Aid Centres (OPS), members and sponsors of the Circle. The Circle in Pleszew has been running a hostel for men for ten years. At present, after the extension done on its own, there are 35 places here. A chairman of the Circle is since the beginning Mr. Witold Ulatowski.
