On Saturday, 16 June, the Zabrze Circle celebrated the 10th anniversary of its activity, which was connected with the 25th anniversary of the Society’s activity.

The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass at St. Kamil’s Church, celebrated by the parish priest, Father Wojciech Weglicki and the Circle’s chaplain, Father Wieslaw Zurawski. The “Resonans con tutti” choir, conducted by Maria Kroczek, was singing.
After the Holy Mass, everyone went to the dinner, organized, thanks to Krzysztof Spetany’s kindliness, at “Restauracja pod Kasztanami.” 
In Teatr Nowy (New Theatre), a celebration led by Zbigniew Stryj, took place. After screening a short film about the Society, Maria Demidowicz, Chair of the Circle, briefly presented the Society’s history and a ten-year activity of the Zabrze Circle. She gave distinctions, awarded by the Society, thanking all who contributed to a better work of the Zabrze Circle. 
Representatives of circles connected with the Society’s activity in Zabrze, in turn, wished the Chair success and perseverance in fulfilling the Society’s mission. Congratulatory letters were read, too.
The artistic part of the event included the performance by artists of the New Theatre in Zabrze: Jolanta Niestoj-Malisz and Zbigniew Stryj as well as Wieslaw Kantoch from the Wyspianski Theatre in Katowice. Musical setting was prepared by Anna Gburek.
At the end, according to the Society’s custom, the Chair encouraged everyone to share bread. 
The celebration was honoured with the presence of authority and clergy representatives: Prof. Jerzy Buzek, Euro MP; Miroslaw Sekula, President of the Supreme Chamber of Control; Father Pawel Pyrchala, mitred prelate; Krzysztof Lewandowski, Deputy Mayor; Marian Czochara, Chair of the City Council; Tadeusz Wita, Silesian MP; Jacek Swietlicki, councilor of the Silesian Voividship Regional Council; Czeslawa Wenecka, Head of the Health Department; Jacek Kubicki, Director of the Poviat Labour Office and Zbigniew Gurnacz, Director of the City Centre for Family Support. 
Guests from partner organizations “Zyj i daj zyc” (“Live and let live”) and “Civitas Christiana” were present, as well. Among the guests were also members of the Zabrze Circle, employees, occupants and people connected with the Albertinian Club, representatives of the circles from neighbouring cities as well as the Vice-Chair of the Society Board, Jan Sznajder.
