On Saturday, June 14, in fine weather, groups from our Society gathered in the Ecce Homo Sanctuary in Krakow on our annual pilgrimage. 1050 people from 35 circles including 505 inhabitants of the shelters have come to the pilgrimage. There were also 8 guests from TIS in Lesna. At the beginning the community was initiated and the groups were introduced. The Eucharist, led by Most Reverend Father Bernard Sawicki, Abbot of Tyniec, concelebrated by 14 priests, was the most important moment of the Mass. At the end we have been sharing communion and breaking bread brought by each branch of the Society.
After the Mass the Albertine Sisters hosted a delicious meal for everyone – sauerkraut stew, fresh bread and beverages. There was also time for meeting friends, visiting a museum and watching artistic performances as well as the film about St. Brother Albert. The ceremonial ending of peregrination of the rosary and the relic of St. Brother Albert and Blessed Sister Bernardina in branches and institutions of the Society, which was initiated in Dynow in June 2006, took place during the meeting. In the last 2 years the rosary had been received in each circle and at the end of its journey it was given over to Ecce Homo Sanctuary. The Act of entrusting our Society to the Blessed Virgin Mary was also renewed during the Mass. The meeting ended with the Divine Mercy Mass and the celebration of St. Brother Albert’s relic. Many groups have also visited other pilgrimage places either before or after visiting Krakow. |
