On Saturday, April 18, TPBA Circle in Bielsko-Biala celebrated its 20th anniversary. The Holy Mass concelebrated in the Church of Divine Providence (Kosciol Opatrznosci Bozej) was led by the Bishop of Bielsko-Zywiec, Tadeusz Rakoczy. The Divine Providence Parish choir provided a beautiful musical setting to the liturgy. The Gala Concert “A to Polska wlasnie” given by Zespol Piesni i Tanca “Slask” accompanied this event.
All those who facilitated and supported the activity of one of the greatest charity organizations in Podbeskidzie, gathered in the Regional Cultural Centre in Bielsko-Biala (Bielskie Centrum Kultury): members and workers together with the President of TPBA Circle in Bielsko-Biala Tadeusz Cozac, benefactors and sponsors, representatives of church authorities and local governments. Other guests included Bishop Tadeusz Rakoczy, President Jacek Krywult, Starost Andrzej Plonka, MEP Malgorzata Handzlik, MP Bozena Kotkowska, and TPBA President Bohdan Aniszczyk. The concert was sponsored by Bielsko Brush Factory “Befaszczot.” The Circle was set up in March 1989 and the soup kitchen started working a year later. The Circle activity gradually developed thanks to the cooperation with the city authorities and goodwill of many companies and parishes in Bielsko-Biala. Now the Circle provides free bath and clothing and manages the soup kitchen giving out 850 meals a day. It organizes Christmas Eve Supper and Easter Breakfast each year and gives out packages with food to people in need. It also organizes events such as Santa Claus Day or Children’s Day and prepares school starter kits for the children. It requires much effort from the board led by Tadeusz Cozac. TPBA Circle members also collect for the homeless in different parishes in the region. The work of the Circle is appreciated and supported by the citizens of Bielsko-Biala. |
