All-Poland Pilgrimage of St. Brother Albert’s Aid Society to Ecce Homo Sanctuary in Krakow was held on Saturday, June 13. As many as 39 circles of our Society joined the pilgrimage – 1050 people, including 520 residents of shelters for the homeless altogether.
The pilgrimage was held according to the pre-established plan. Holy Mass was celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Jan Zajac from Krakow, assisted by 15 other priests. His Excellency gave a homily in which he focused on the question of Merciful Heart. The Mass traditionally ended with sharing bread brought by representatives of TPBA circles and facilities.
After the Mass pilgrims could savour the taste of meals prepared by the Albertine Sisters: bigos (Polish dish of stewed sauerkraut and meat), fresh bread, teacakes, tea and coffee served in small food stands. During the meal we could see and listen to the performance entitled “To feed with bread of love” (Nakarmic chlebem milosci) presented by an artistic group “Fenix” from Debica. For the first time circles of our Society brought requests, intentions and thanks which were handed over in envelopes to the Albertine Sisters to be read out during a novena to St. Brother Albert. The meeting ended with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy led by Father Bronislaw Zolnierczyk and Father Wieslaw Zurawski.
